Six acrylic thread drops, each with its own illustration: the hydrangea in its thimble, the cameo, the stork scissors, the hot air balloon, the thread card and the sailboat with a needle for a mast.

A clear pocket on the back holds the thread's original tag, whatever the brand. Color name, number and dye lot stay with the right thread, as the maker printed them. Cut the skein into working lengths the way you usually do for that thread, loop them through the slot, and pull a strand when you need one. The rest stays put.

• White acrylic with a scalloped edge, 4.6 by 2.6 inches. Pocket 2 by 2.8 inches.
• Two rings included: a 3.25 inch white lacquered ring for the collection at home and a 2.25 inch gold ring for the project that leaves the house.
• Hang the set on its ring, slip a loaded drop into a floss bag, or leave a finished color on its drop until the next time.

Thread not included. Each drop is finished by hand in California.
